The Client

i-on magazine is a high quality free monthly glossy lifestyle magazine aimed at the hip and upwardly mobile, high spending Edinburgh market. Distributed through a network of hotels, restaurants, style bars, retailers, health and fitness clubs, etc They provide their readers with an informed mix of editorial features, interviews, reviews, articles and competitions covering a range of subject areas including food and drink, health and beauty, fashion and retail, travel, entertainment and property. Their customers include a range of high profile international, national and local Edinburgh brand names.

The Role

Due to expansion and the success of their magazine, i-on are at an exciting growth phase and now require an Advertising Business Development Executive to grow their advertising revenues. Covering the Edinburgh area you will be responsible for generating new business via telemarketing, cold calling and presenting bespoke advertising solutions face to face with key decision makers direct as well as advertising agencies. Your role will involve developing existing relationships into long standing partnerships as well as attending a range of social events where you will network and represent the face of the magazine.

The Candidate

To apply you will require a minimum of 6 months advertising / media sales experience from any sector (i.e directories, magazines, newspapers, radio, outdoor etc). You will have knowledge of and an interest in what's hot and happening in the Edinburgh area with the ability to work closely with customers selling the benefits of a quality lifestyle title. You will be commercially aware, motivated, enthusiastic and have the tenacity to drive sales forward coupled with a real desire to work in the magazine industry. You will also have the ability to develop long term relationships with a range of existing accounts.
