The Company

Our client is an award winning leading independent publisher with a strong track record in successfully launching a wide range of well researched attractive and highly respected glossy consumer magazines, newspapers and associated websites. They are in a phase of development and expansion and currently require Advertising Sales Executives to sell advertising space on a range of magazines including lifestyle, leisure and sporting titles.

The Role

  After an initial intensive training program introducing you to their product portfolio, brand values and business approach you will be placed in a front line sales role. You will be responsible for generating new business and managing key accounts within one of their magazine titles. This role could involve dealing with a mix of customers across subjects including sport manufacturers (clothing and equipment), venues, sports clubs, retailers, hair, fashion, beauty, travel, food & drinks and events. You will be responsible for cold and warm call telemarketing to generate new accounts, while developing and maintaining relationships with their growing client base. You will be negotiating and presenting bespoke advertising solutions to key decision makers over the phone working to targets and deadlines in a fast paced environment.

The Candidate

To apply you will ide ally require a minimum of 6 months experience selling advertising space from any sector (ie. newspaper, magazines, radio, directory, etc) coupled with a passion for the lifestyle/ sports market.  Alternatively you will have strong experience and track record of selling any business to business product such as office furniture, office supplies, franking machines, IT equipment, IT products, training, telecoms, financial products, digital print services or a background in recruitment consultancy. You will be natur ally enthusiastic with creativity, drive and the motivation to develop business in a competitive market. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate at all levels and a desire to pursue a career in media sales.
