Sales and Marketing Assistant (Magazines & Events)

The Company

Our client are a prestigious National and International publisher with a range of cutting edge media tools including press, magazines, events and online media. They currently require a Sales and Marketing Assistant. based at their Edinburgh office to work on their Magazine division and one of Scotland’s leading publishers.

The Role

Reporting to the Sales Directory you will be responsible for

  • Generating all commercial content for magazines, including product pages, advertorial and in house marketing campaigns.
  • Liaising with the web editor in selecting commercial content suitable for web and newsletter use, supported by social media campaigns.
  • Holding regular meetings with the web editor to assist in driving forward online content and social media
  • Providing sales support to the sales teams.
  • Assisting in generating content for internal and external marketing campaigns, shows and events across all products as required by the group marketing executive.
  • Providing commercial content for all special projects including events, Awards, brochures, online and via social media.
  • Working closely with the group marketing executive to deliver key projects within deadline and to budget requirements
  • Working with advertising and editorial teams as directed to support social media activity.
  • Providing admin and research support to the senior management team when required.
  • Assisting copy control during busy periods and provide holiday cover when required.

 

Other responsibilities

  • General admin support to the sales teams, including copy chasing and proof reading, across all advertising products and platforms.
  • Lead generation from competitive media, research and telemarketing.
  • Preparing and updating sales effective call rate figures.
  • Keeping sales and marketing materials up to date and available.
  • Providing admin support to the group marketing executive
  • Representing the company at selected events and exhibitions
  • Organising meetings and facilities for sales.
  • Supporting key members of the team.
  • Working for the sales director on other projects when required.
  • Shutting off competitions and liaising with client and winner

 

The Candidate

Ideally you will be of graduate calibre with some basic experience of working in a commercially driven publishing environment. You will be looking to pursue a career in sales and marketing with particular interest in advertising and publishing.

You will have first rate communication skills in written English, coupled with an excellent telephone manner.  You will also be able to demonstrate high attention to detail, as you will be required to proof read and when required add your own views, edits and comments to external documents.

You will be computer literate in Word, PowerPoint and Excel with a good understanding of social media and associated platforms.

You will be highly organised and proactive in managing your own workload as well as following processes and procedures.

Your interpersonal skills will allow you to develop an excellent rapport with both external and internal clients and colleagues.

Ultimately you will be a self starter who thrives in working in a fast paced environment.

Driving licence

It is a requirement of the job that you hold a full UK licence.
