The Company
- Our client is a Media operation with a portfolio of media products that include magazines, supplements, digital media, conferences and events.
- Their founding team have a strong track record, pedigree and award-winning reputation.
- Their team includes leading journalists, writers and design partners.
- Due to growth they now require a Business Development Manger.
The Role
Based initially from their office in Edinburgh City centre with opportunity to work from home after a qualifying period.
You will be responsible for
- Generating new business and managing key accounts within their high-profile portfolio of solutions.
- Solutions include market leading print, digital media platforms, sponsorship, content services, events and conference opportunities.
- This is a structured solution-based sale.
- Researching, identifying and sourcing leads, warm and cold calling,
- Dealing with a range of corporate clients, public sector agencies and associations across Scotland and the UK.
- Identify the customer needs then create, design and present innovative media solutions tailored to the client to ensure results.
- Negotiating and presenting bespoke media solutions to key decision makers over the phone and face to face.
- Once on board you will manage, nurture and provide great customer service, making them want to grow their business with you.
- Building, nurturing and developing account relationships with key decision makers.
- Working with editorial, events, content production, advertising and events team to ensure campaign delivery and results.
- Working to targets and deadlines.
- Maintain an understanding of the market and competitor media.
- Attending events.
- Update and maintain company systems as appropriate.
The Candidate
- Ideally you will have a strong track record of selling B2B media solutions from any sector (ie. newspaper, digital, magazines, conferences, events, exhibitions etc)
- You will require a natural interest in the business sector.
- You will have a consultative approach to solution selling and a strong understanding of the media and marketing departments.
- Creativity, drive, motivation, and passion to develop new business opportunities in a competitive market.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate at all levels.
- You will be PC literate, creative, ambitious, articulate, proactive and quick thinking with the ability to develop long term relationships.
- Able to demonstrate past success and a desire to be the best at what you do.
